Read Carefully and Choose the Sentence That Works

Does It Make Sense? is an educational reading game where you look at sentences and decide whether they actually make sense. The game features Zara the wildebeest, who is dreaming about traveling into space. You can help her dream continue by reading two sentences and choosing the one that makes sense.

The activity focuses on reading comprehension rather than simply recognizing individual words. You may be able to read every word in a sentence and still need to think about whether the complete idea sounds correct.

Compare Both Sentences

Two sentences appear on the screen. Read the first one from beginning to end, then read the second.

One sentence makes sense. The other contains something that makes the meaning wrong or silly.

Click the sentence that works. The game checks your choice automatically. If you choose correctly, you earn another piece for Zara’s rocket puzzle. If you choose the sentence that does not make sense, Zara’s alarm rings and wakes her up. You then get another chance.

Build Zara’s Rocket

Correct answers do more than add points. After choosing the right sentence, you can drag a piece into Zara’s dream bubble and gradually build her rocket.

There are six pairs of sentences in the activity. Completing them lets Zara’s space dream come true.

The rocket gives children a clear reason to keep reading carefully.

Check the Meaning, Not Just the Words

Does It Make Sense? teaches a useful reading habit. Good readers do not only pronounce words correctly. They also notice when a sentence sounds wrong.

A strange word in the middle can completely change the meaning. Reading the whole sentence again can help you spot the problem.

Read both choices, think about what each one says, choose the sentence with a sensible meaning, and keep adding pieces to the rocket. Does It Make Sense? turns basic reading comprehension into a simple game where understanding the sentence matters more than reading it quickly.
