Type Magic Chapter 1

Fullscreen Mode

Build the Road With Your Keyboard

Type & Magic: Chapter 1 is a puzzle platform game where typing becomes part of the world around you. You play as a magician’s apprentice who enters the ruins of a mysterious castle. The apprentice has a job to do inside the old structure, but getting through the castle is not as simple as walking from one room to another. Missing floors, traps, and awkward gaps block the way.

The clever part of Type & Magic: Chapter 1 comes from its platforms. Instead of finding every platform already waiting for you, you create paths by typing highlighted letters. Finish the required typing and a new platform appears. You can then use that platform to continue through the room.

Type First, Then Make the Jump

Typing alone will not clear the castle. The character also needs to jump across the platforms you create. The Space key handles jumping. This gives every room two parts to think about. First you need to type accurately. Then you have to use the new path without falling into a trap. Holding Enter can also speed up the game.

That mix makes Type & Magic: Chapter 1 different from a normal typing exercise. A correct set of letters changes the level in front of you. The words have a direct purpose because they help the apprentice move forward.

Explore Fifteen Puzzle Rooms

Chapter 1 contains fifteen single-screen levels. Each room presents its own platforming problem. The first chapter covers about one third of the planned story. The castle also contains items that reveal more about the background of the adventure. Coins can be collected as well. Their purpose is kept as a secret within the game.

The simple black-and-white pixel style keeps the important parts of each room easy to see. There is still a dark fantasy mood around the ruined castle and its mystery.

Type & Magic: Chapter 1 gives keyboard practice a useful role inside an adventure. You are not typing words just to raise a number on the screen. Every correct sequence can create the ground needed for the next jump. That idea turns typing, platforming, and puzzle solving into one connected challenge.
