The lesson starts with a square. A voice guide multiplies one side by itself to find its area. Next a rectangle appears. The guide shows how multiplying length by width gives the space inside. Finally the lesson adds a triangle. It uses half the base times the height for its area.

In one example the lesson uses a garden 5 meters long and 3 meters wide. Students multiply those numbers and reach 15 square meters. Then they add all four sides. Adding them gives 16 meters around the garden.
