Gerbil Peril

Gerbil Peril – Build a Safe Path with Triangle Maths

Gerbil Peril is an educational puzzle game that combines triangle geometry with a lively rescue mission. A group of small gerbils enters each level and immediately begins walking forward in search of its underground burrow. Unfortunately, the route is filled with broken paths, dangerous traps, and obstacles. Players must solve mathematical challenges and build safe passages before the gerbils reach trouble.

The game is loosely inspired by the classic puzzle game Lemmings. Like those wandering creatures, the gerbils do not stop to check whether the road ahead is safe. They simply continue moving, leaving the player responsible for protecting them. Every decision must therefore be made carefully and often quickly.

Most puzzles involve drawing, completing, or calculating triangles. Correctly solved triangles become useful parts of the level, including bridges, walkways, ramps, and transportation routes. A completed structure may help the gerbils cross a wide gap, reach a higher platform, or avoid a deadly obstacle. Players must look at the available measurements and use their understanding of triangle properties to find the missing information.

The levels contain several hazards that can put the gerbils in danger. These include crushing machines, pools of water, spike pits, and unsafe drops. An incorrectly completed triangle may create a broken or unusable route, causing the gerbils to walk directly into a trap. Solving the problem correctly gives them a safe path towards the burrow and brings the player closer to completing the stage.

Gerbil Peril uses straightforward mouse-based controls, helping players concentrate on the geometry instead of learning complicated commands. It is a single-player, two-dimensional educational puzzle game created in Unity and playable in a web browser.

The combination of cute characters and meaningful maths makes the activity more entertaining than answering triangle questions on a worksheet. Players practise recognising triangle measurements, applying geometry rules, solving missing values, and thinking ahead. They must also manage their time because the gerbils will continue moving while the puzzle is being completed.

With charming visuals, increasingly challenging levels, amusing gerbil behaviour, and clever triangle-based obstacles, Gerbil Peril turns geometry practice into an enjoyable rescue adventure. Solve each triangle, complete the pathways, avoid the traps, and help every gerbil reach the safety of its burrow.
