Alphabet Memory
About Alphabet Memory
Alphabet Memory is that classic matching game that so many of us grew up with, but this version is all about the ABCs! You’ll have a whole bunch of cards laid out on the table, all face down. Each card has a letter printed on it. On your turn, you get to flip over two cards, one at a time, trying your best to find a matching pair of letters – like finding two ‘G’s or two ‘r’s. If the letters on your two cards match, awesome, you’ve made a pair and you get to keep them! If they don’t match, you flip them back over face down, and the trick is to remember what you saw and where it was for your next turn, or for when someone else flips a card you need!
This game is a fantastic little workout for your brain, especially for building up concentration skills and paying close attention to details. You really have to try and remember the locations of specific letters if you want to be successful at making those matches. The more you play, the sharper your recall becomes for where that elusive ‘Q’ or ‘P’ was hiding. So, while you’re having a blast trying to find pairs, you’re also seriously sharpening those memory skills and getting incredibly familiar with what all the different letters look like.
It’s such a great game for young children who are in the process of learning their letters. It’s also really useful for anyone, young or old, who wants to give their memory a bit of a playful boost while practicing their ABCs. The concept is wonderfully simple to understand, but finding those matches still offers a fun and engaging challenge, which definitely makes the learning process a lot more enjoyable than just looking at static flashcards.
